Merola Tile is a leading national tile distributor that proudly imports high quality, on-trend and emotionally inspiring tiles from around the world to suit a diverse flooring market.

The NJ Division of Merola Tile employs approximately 120 people and distributes tile in the U.S. and Canada through The Home Depot, independently owned tile showrooms, and numerous e-commerce retailers under the Merola Tile, SomerTile, and Elite Tile brand names. Role and Responsibilities

  • Manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate, timely, and relevant accounting of business results.
  • Controls expenses.
  • Provides leadership with vital business intelligence through reports and analyses and presenting thereon.
  • Administers the annual budget and forecasts and related variance analyses.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
  • Builds and improves processes. Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure MTDA’s and department’s performance.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualification, Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Fifteen years or more of relevant experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Robust analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
