Position Overview
The Division Financial Controller is a member of the Division Management Team, reporting to the Division President, and provides financial leadership to the division, including financial analysis, divisional strategy, and facilitating growth initiatives. This position is responsible for optimizing the organization’s financial performance, compliance with management and accounting principles, providing analysis on divisional sales, margins and expenses, and executing and maintaining internal controls in compliance of corporate and SOX requirements. The Division Financial Controller also supervises the division accounting team, including the Division Factory Controller and local accounting functions for North American sites associated with the division, and is responsible for the annual divisional and manufacturing plans. The role is expected to identify, develop and implement recommendations for process improvements, and serves as the division representative that coordinates with corporate finance functions (corporate reporting, cost accounting, tax, treasury, etc.).

Essential Duties
  • Partner with division leaders on divisional strategies through data-driven analysis, decision-making and preparation of financial recommendations, helping to drive sustainable, long-term growth
  • Review and analyze of proposed pricing, rebates commissions and marketing programs; review of effectiveness of the programs and recommendations for improvements
  • Review of customer contracts and agreements; assistance and coordination with corporate accounting for appropriate accounting treatment; recommendations to improve these agreements
  • Works with factory management to ensure that manufacturing transactions and controls are in place and operating effectively
  • Develops divisional operating measurements and reporting to analyze performance, enhance productivity and efficiency and drive simplification efforts
  • Coordination with regional finance functions for implementation of key divisional operating measurements
  • Review capital investment projects and requests; monitor progress in implementation and recommend changes, if appropriate
  • Manage detailed development of sales incentive plans and quotas; prepare periodic detailed reporting on individual progress on quotas and detailed calculation of sales incentives
  • Preparation and recording of monthly journal entries, in coordination with corporate accounting
  • Assist with acquisition due diligence and integration as well as implementation of enterprise information systems
Position Requirements
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent, MBA a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, active or inactive, a plus
Experience
  • 7-8 years in Accounting/Finance positions
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving ability, organized, analytical; able to work with detailed information and provide high level analysis
  • Ability to work independently, working proactively and taking initiative to achieve desired results
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong skills using analytical and report writing software (such as Excel, Cognos tools)
