This role will be directly with Enerflex Energy Systems Inc. (EESI), which is the United States operation. EESI is the largest division in the global company and in a lot of ways is the engine for the organization. EESI is made up of four business units that are experiencing strong growth.

The Contracts Manager role is an integral part of the commercial and legal teams, providing support and working with all parts of the business, including sales, contract compression, engineering, applications, risk management, and production teams, and other business management teams such as legal, procurement and accounting. The role requires strong communication, contracts management, and negotiation skills. The role requires extensive contract review, including drafting and the modification of customer and vendor terms and conditions. This role is responsible for tasks related to maintaining a smooth contract negotiation flow.

Most importantly, as a Contract Manager must be able to work within and in furtherance of the organization’s core values of Integrity, Commitment, Creativity, and Success, and deliver and cultivate a positive customer experience (whether its internal or external customers).

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as a business point of contact for commercial agreements and other legal needs.
  • Conducts reviews and modifies terms and conditions, and together with in-house legal counsel, reviews and ensures compliance with Enerflex contracting requirements.
  • Works closely with the project execution teams to review change orders and other project documents.
  • Assists with implementing and supporting internal purchase order review processes.
  • Organize and maintain a repository for previously negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Reviews and modifies non-disclosure agreements.
  • Reviews and modifies financial guarantees.
  • Attends sales meetings and project meetings as requested.

Job Specification

  • University degree or technical diploma supported by legal or contracts training preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or the oilfield service industry is required.
  • 7-12 years of experience in contracts management preferred.
  • Construction contract negotiation and management is preferred.
  • Experience on the vendor side of the transaction is preferred.
  • Construction contract negotiation and management is preferred.
  • Experience with the negotiation and execution of financial guarantees is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with customers and negotiating contracts, while maintaining a positive and cordial environment when negotiating contentious legal terms with the customer teams.
  • When necessary and requested by sales, be comfortable interacting with customers outside of the office in a face-to-face social setting.
  • Must be able to review, understand, and provide modifications to legal provisions such as, but not limited to, warranty, termination, confidentiality, and similar.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions
Fast-paced general office environment, with flexible work-from-home policy. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Travel is possible on occasion.
