Content Writer Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for a qualified candidate to create compelling content consisting of engaging articles, case studies, and webpage copy. This role will work with our content team to support research and thought leadership capabilities for us as well as several clients. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of creativity and the ability to use data-driven insights to write better material.

The successful candidate should also be detail-oriented and committed to writing with tight deadlines and SEO goals in mind. Preference will be given to those with a strong writing portfolio, bachelor’s degree, and relevant work experience.

• Write engaging original content on a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms, including blogs, website copy, social media, and more
• Research topics and organize facts into cohesive, well-written articles
• Collaborate with cross-team functions to ensure that all projects are handled correctly and in a timely manner.
• Edit content produced by themselves and other team members
• Research and understand a variety of industries and determine what types of content will be successful with search engines and social media.
• Post and publish content on WordPress and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
• Use our tools and software to perform keyword research for SEO purposes
• write content for e-commerce and lifestyle landing pages.
• Write clear marketing copy to promote our products/services
• Prepare well-structured drafts using Content Management Systems
• Proofread and edit blog posts before publication
• Submit work to editors for input and approval
• Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles
• Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
• Promote content on social media
• Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
• Update website content as needed

Skills

• Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role
• Portfolio of published articles
• Experience doing research using multiple sources
• Familiarity with web publications
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
• Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
• Ability to meet deadlines
