Job Overview:

This is a new position to Chugach Consolidated Solutions (CCSL) multi-year contract and supports Picatinny Arsenal, Morris County NJ.


The Construction Project Coordinator / Estimator is responsible for: Preparing cost estimates related to the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities; Planning and estimating labor, materials, specialized subcontractor support and equipment in various disciplines of construction and maintenance; Field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project; Directing and mentoring on-site staff and the field labor force, including laborers/craft workers and Managing the execution of work orders.


The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as having strong communication and client service skills.
Responsibilities:

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and trades personnel on multiple projects.
  • Interprets plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Coordinates, evaluates, monitors, and documents contract activities and progress.
  • Prepares recommendations for contract modifications alternative source(s) for specialized tasks.
  • Review submittals, generate and maintain logs and evaluate procedures for compliance with contract specifications
  • Prepare cost estimates, performance work statements and specifications for existing and proposed facilities
  • Assists in preconstruction efforts and performs constructability reviews
  • Prepare and execute Project Execution Plans
  • Oversee construction permit process; obtains Notice to Proceed
  • Prepare bid packages, as well as follow procurement process
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material
  • Prepare initial master schedules and oversee updates
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plan
  • Provide accurate updates on construction and estimating activities weekly
  • Review and approve Subcontractor Payment Applications
  • Attend and lead construction meetings, to include solicitation site visit, pre-construction, and work progress meetings.
  • Perform inspections of in-house or sub-contract operations to ensure compliance with contract
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
  • Maintains and operates company vehicles and/or tools and equipment in compliance with company policy
  • Support the project Safety Plan though personal involvement in all aspects of Safety, including training, safety protective equipment and clothing, and adhering to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • US Citizen.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • May be required to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Experience with construction management/project coordination.
  • Cost estimating experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PPT, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and manufacturers’ installation and operation manuals.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills.
