Why does the job exist?
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
Position will provide internal operational monitoring, reviewing and verification of departmental compliance with applicable standards, policies, procedures, directives, laws and regulations. Position will prepare the prison facility for accreditation with the American Correctional Association. This position will provide oversight and direction regarding the implementation and compliance of the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
How does it get done?
- Collects and files documentation from department heads on a quarterly basis in order to determine compliance with American Correctional Association Standards.
- Monitors prison operations and provides reports on findings to the facility Warden and the Department's Central Office.
- Completes compliance reports and provides findings to the requesting Department or Division.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in investigations, regulation, policy, statutory, and/or contract compliance. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

This position is designated a safety sensitive position. Employment is subject to a pre-employment and random drug testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
