Compliance Coordinator-OMI



Job Summary

The Compliance Coordinator, part of the OMI Operations Team and working in close collaboration with Unit Leadership, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal audit policies and procedures related to the administration of the Project Orders (amendments) to the Interagency Agreement between Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and the University of Illinois. The Compliance Coordinator will also ensure complete, accurate and timely audit information is reported to key stakeholders. The Compliance Coordinator will collaborate with the Operations Team to identify, facilitate, and coordinate strategic partnerships and establish necessary resources required to ensure compliance of all OMI projects, goals, and objectives. Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is Illinois' single state Medicaid agency and the state organization responsible for administering Illinois' Medical Assistance and Child Support programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit policies and procedures while ensuring complete, accurate, and timely audit information is reported.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining tracking and reporting tools to assess Compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitors the utilization and allocation of existing resources required to support existing OMI projects and initiatives.
  • Establish resource plans for OMI projects and operations to ensure OMI Leadership understands the resource commitment to achieve projects and initiatives.
  • In collaboration with OMI Leadership, cultivate and maintain existing partnerships with University resources and OMI on behalf of HFS.
  • Utilize creative problem solving and propose solutions to OMI leadership to achieve Unit goals and objectives through the innovative utilization of University resources.
  • Scheduling and facilitating meetings between new or existing partners and OMI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialty Factors/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience working within the health/regulatory environment and health care policy and/or data management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare compliance concepts and practices
  • Demonstrated understanding of data management and analysis skills.
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, for oral and written communication.
  • Must be able to quickly assess and analysis strategic business affairs to act in the best interest of OMI/HFS.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with special emphasis on Excel

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/17/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
