Job Description:

Reporting to our Compliance Director, you will be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team of compliance professionals that manage examinations, licensing, and communication with our customers and regulators. Using a customer service-oriented approach, you will be taking calls from our store managers, customers, and external regulators, gathering data and drafting responses to complaints and other correspondence. As a Compliance Clerk, you will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, working remotely from your home office in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and on-site at our Administrative Office (HQ) in Irving (Las Colinas), TX.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research and respond to regulatory consumer complaints and maintain the complaint database
  • Handle inbound phone calls and emails regarding data requests from law enforcement
  • State and city licensing activities such as, applying for a licenses, renewing licenses, obtaining bonds for licenses
  • Completion and submission of state required quarterly and annual reporting
  • Trade Name Protection tasks such as notifying media outlets promptly when Cottonwood’s intellectual property is misused
  • Compliance monitoring activities to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Prepare management reports related to monitoring activities
  • Draft and finalize procedures as needed
  • Gather and organize audit materials for state and federal agencies
  • Mailing of required consumer notices
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, MS Office, and Teams
  • Local (Dallas/Fort Worth area) candidates only – no relocation
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and not require sponsorship in the future
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a regulatory compliance role
  • 1+ years of experience filing licensing for a regulated entity
  • Familiarity with consumer financial services and regulations
Compensation
  • $19.38/hr (~$40,310 annually) plus scheduled wage increases
