We are seeking a Compensation Manager to handle the primary functions surrounding compensation, job analysis, incentive plans and employee well-being! The selected individual will be responsible for evaluating and making recommendations on compensation strategies to attract and retain talent.

The Compensation Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and administering a comprehensive total rewards strategy and programs for all divisions of the Company. This position will research and bring in-depth understanding of external best-practices and innovative trends to apply them to Total Rewards programs and technologies. This position offers a hybrid work schedule allowing for greater work life balance.

Essential Job Functions

Total Rewards

  • Plan, design, implement, and administer a comprehensive rewards strategy, and programs including work/life balance programs.
  • Evaluate the compensation landscape to understand and learn from best practices through benchmarking and industry research and employment trends, track legislation and make recommendations.
  • Strategically assess the effectiveness of current programs in achieving organizational objectives; identify best practices and benchmarks; and develop recommendations for modifications to align to HR compensation philosophy and strategy and business goals.
  • Modify compensation structures and conduct equity analysis of roles in response to changing organizational needs, market values and geographic differentials. Make recommendations and range spread based on compensation philosophy.
  • Support the development and integration of new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable, and cost effective.
  • Develop and coordinate communication strategies and activities designed to educate and inform employees about total rewards.
  • Manage performance management and rewards and recognition programs for the company.
  • Help manage all compensation planning processes including the annual compensation review in collaboration with HR and Operations.
  • Prepare annual budget for total rewards and manage expenditures related to benefit programs
  • Manages and monitors implementation and operation of HRIS systems as they relate to total rewards administration.
  • Develop internal operating procedures and controls for the administering and managing benefits.
  • Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing Total Rewards programs and new initiatives.
  • Communicate actively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR and other departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Manage data in accordance with the company’s record retention policies and procedures and state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and company information.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.

Position Analysis

  • Conduct job analysis which includes creating or revising job descriptions and assessing the job’s value in the marketplace.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to managers around job analysis, job descriptions and appropriate compensation benchmarking, including ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Determine training needs, as well as a path for growth and development

Incentive Plans

  • Provide program management and administration for our company performance and compensation cycles.
  • Ensure effective and efficient execution of the company’s leadership bonus plan through detailed analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to training and communication efforts to ensure that leaders and team members understand the value and philosophy of our compensation strategy.
  • Administer the annual merit and incentive processes

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years compensation and experience at a manager level or 10+ years compensation experience.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint
  • Broad experience in data and reporting tools preferred.
  • Knowledge in broad-based compensation, job architecture, data analysis, and market pay research.
  • Proven experience preparing executive reports, presentations and materials.
  • Analytical mindset with strong ability to interpret data and apply to find creative solutions to unique situations.
  • Mathematical skills including calculating compensation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to present analysis/recommendations in a clear and compelling manner to various audiences (HR partners, cross-functional partners, managers, business leaders, employees.)
  • Strong ability to organize, keep track of details and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and previous experience with Paylocity or similar payroll software.
