Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Compensation serves as a compensation expert for Light & Wonder, Inc., and manages project work related to the development, implementation and administration of compensation policies and programs globally. The Senior Manager, Global Compensation is responsible for overseeing key compensation processes such as merit increases, annual bonus plans, job leveling, compensation reviews, and the development of pay recommendations. The Senior Manager, Global Compensation also: provides business partners with advice regarding matters of compensation; advises management on policy interpretation; and responds to compensation-related issues and inquiries throughout the business. The position is highly collaborative with HRIT, Legal and Finance, with respect to supporting the recordkeeping, accounting and public reporting of compensation.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the development of compensation programs that are market competitive, internally equitable, performance-based and financially sustainable.
  • Provide highly analytical, confidential and data-driven reporting used in decision-making by senior management. Prepare ad hoc compensation analytics and personnel data reports as requested.
  • Through the analysis of internal and external market data, formulate recommendations regarding employee and executive remuneration packages globally. For international positions, this includes consideration of competitive total reward strategies that are based on location and consider local pay practices.
  • Collaborate closely with PC business partners to perform competitive pay reviews, job evaluations, band assignment, and FLSA exemption analysis.
  • Throughout the year, lead and execute ongoing communications to employees regarding compensation programs, bonus payouts, merit increases, etc.
  • Engage with PC business partners and organization leaders on key processes, ensuring that key internal constituents are informed and appropriately incorporated into ongoing compensation projects year-round.
  • Review and administer the approval of manager submissions for new positions, titles, new hire salaries, promotional pay increases, market pay adjustments, and employee transfers/relocations.
  • Manage the annual merit increase and bonus processes including communications, project planning, timelines, system set up, payment calculations, data management and dissemination, audits, approvals and providing end results to payroll for input.
  • Participate in cross-functional PC project teams and other special projects, as necessary.
  • Conduct or manage participation in compensation surveys.
  • Monitor accounting, tax and other compensation related laws, regulations and trends to ensure compensation decisions are fully informed.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving employee issues.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, economics, mathematics or other related fields.
  • Certified Compensation Professional a plus.
Experience, Skills and Abilities
At least 8 years’ experience as follows:
  • Working in a publicly traded, data-driven corporate environment and/or in compensation consulting.
  • Leading compensation decisions through a combination of data analytics and the application of business acumen.
  • Competitive pay review and benchmarking leveraging multiple survey data resources, proxy-disclosed executive pay data, and internal pay information.
  • Development of salary structures, organization band/levels, and short and long-term incentive frameworks.
  • Administration of multiple, complex compensation programs (promotions, merit increases, bonus, etc.).
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Proficient Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Microsoft MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Compensation benchmarking and incentive design practices, particularly at the executive level.
  • Experience with finance and accounting concepts, including an understanding of metrics on the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
