We provide home-based child care businesses with the training and resources to succeed. Position Summary

Our Child Care Family Services Department is invested in offering a wraparound service model that builds on individual and family strengths to help families achieve positive goals and improve well-being. The Community Outreach Manager actively works to cultivate and steward rewarding and long-term relationships with community-based organizations by gaining knowledge of the services they have to offer and strengthening the referral process between Children’s Council and our community partners. They will have direct supervision of two Education & Outreach Specialists and two of our Client Relations staff.

Key Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Project management includes developing and tracking timelines and deliverables; developing and monitoring budgets, collecting and analyzing data to assess progress and impact, and recommending course corrections.
  • Responsible for completing funder and internal reporting requirements, monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • In an effort to continually improve our community events, track, analyze tabling and community referral data.
  • Responsible for disseminating the most up-to-date information regarding resources and workshops
  • Ensure that there is daily client relations (front desk) coverage and support being provided to our guests and callers.
  • Implement, monitor and streamline diaper distribution
  • Collaborate and engage regularly with managers and program staff to ensure our services are synchronized across teams and departments.
  • Seek intentional collaborations with other internal departments such as; Play lab, Lending Library and other parent support workshops
  • Develop information materials, presentations and coordinate online outreach activities, including social media and website updates with the Marketing and Communications team

Program Leadership and Improvement

  • Strategically build new partnerships and a community-based organizations referral process, to ensure we have knowledge and understanding of the wrap around supportive services they offer to families, children and child care educators.
  • Responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities that increases the presence of Children’s Council in the community
  • Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Family Support, develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative community outreach plan targeting families who qualify for our voucher programs and agencies staff who work directly with families
  • Creatively engage the public, city agencies and community-based organizations to inform people of our programs and support
  • The goal is to help increase the number of children enrolling into our child care voucher programs and other wrap around services
  • The goal is to increase the partnerships with agencies in the community who offer resources related to food, housing, employment and agencies that provide basic resources to families.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Project management and supervisory experience.
  • Experience working within the local ECE, and/or other social service fields.
  • Advanced digital literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word Suite (especially Excel); CRM database experience strongly preferred.
  • Communications, facilitation & presentation skills are a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and socialize metrics to measure outputs and outcomes.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • A background clearance is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Dexterity to use office equipment; the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to set up/break down community events: lift up to 5 lbs.
