The newly established HAMMER ERC and the College of Engineering seeks a talented and motivated student to help with departmental communications in writing, event support and social media. The Communications Student Assistant’s responsibilities will include:
Work closely with the team to research, develop and implement a variety of communications tactics including news stories about faculty research and event-related social media content (60%).- Provide support for special events including year-round social promotion (25%).
- Perform administrative tasks, such as document updates, mailings, supply room inventory and data input (15%).
This position offers employment throughout the year, including academic breaks. Please note that the summer semester may require some in-person assignments.
Qualifications Required: Demonstrated writing, editing and interviewing ability. Experience and education in communications or journalism. Ability to work remotely and independently when needed.
Desired: Familiarity with social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Design, photography, video and web content skills are a plus. Availability during the summer.
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $12/hour.
