Job Description


AECOM
has a position available for a Communications Manager to support our Energy team's growing project list, including large utility programs in Southern California.

This position will primarily support the SDG&E undergrounding program, an exciting and best-in-class program management opportunity utilizing innovative technical methods and collaborative partnerships to reduce wildfire risk to communities. The program is a multi-year, multi-billion dollar program with significant opportunity for growth and impact.

Responsibilities include, but may not limited to, the following:

  • The successful candidate will need strong technical, organizational and communication skills to ensure projects meet communications objectives.
  • Develop and execute communications plans to support programs and projects
  • Strategic engagement planning and executing stakeholder-focused engagements
  • Coordination and partnership with Community Based Organizations
  • Maintain and build client relationships by coordinating with client outreach specialists and communications teams
  • Measure and analyze the impact of communications activities
  • Leading communications team, including supporting team members, to ensure strong project execution, high quality deliverables, and excellent communications
  • Leading implementation of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, including meeting organization and facilitation
  • Coordinating with other AECOM and client staff to prepare graphic displays and layouts for public information
  • Develop presentations and materials for various stakeholders within a client’s brand guidelines
  • Developing and tracking stakeholder communications
  • Manage subcontractor coordination and engagement across program efforts
  • Ability to understand technical project information, develop an outreach strategy related to that information, and oversee the tasks within that strategy to execution
  • Development of project proposals and identification of new business opportunities
  • Contract administration
  • Project and client management


Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
  • Demonstrated Communications experience in relevant areas should include one or more of the following: utility programs, renewable energy, capital projects, decarbonization, and/or sustainability
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex materials and to craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of audiences
  • Experience with employee communications methodologies and tools
  • Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience planning and executing strategic communications programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism, Planning, or a related discipline is highly desired
  • Experience in copyediting and familiarity with AP style is preferred
  • Project management and organizational skills preferred
  • Proficiency with InDesign desired

Additional Information


Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position in California is $80,756.40 - $149,399.34.
