Freese and Nichols is seeking a Communications and Social Media Specialist to work from
any of our offices across the Southern US
. The Communications and Social Media Specialist will tell the stories of our engineers, planners and scientists and their impact on our communities, with a focus on overseeing our social media.
You will be responsible for producing a wide range of materials for sales, recruitment and internal communications objectives. You will also manage Freese and Nichols’ social media accounts and direct our social media strategy. Continuing our efforts to strengthen employee engagement, you will lead training for technical staff and corporate leaders and partner with them on communications campaigns.
Duties generally fall into two categories, content development and social media management:
Content Development
  • Writes feature articles about projects, people and technical topics
  • Reports Freese and Nichols news, finding newsworthy stories and presenting them in a strategic way
  • Interviews technical staff, corporate leaders, and clients
  • Conducts research using internal and external resources
  • Works with subject matter experts to produce thought leadership content
  • Manages projects or campaigns with multiple stakeholders, contributors or vendors
  • Performs basic graphic design and layout
Social Media Management
  • Serves as primary administrator of Freese and Nichols’ social media platforms
  • Manages calendar of daily social media posts
  • Coordinates with Marketing team and internal stakeholders to develop social media messaging and strategies
  • Represents Freese and Nichols digitally by interacting with our social audience and resolving issues as necessary
  • Trains technical staff and corporate leaders to use social media effectively
  • Keeps up with industry best practices and up-to-date tactics for individual platforms
  • Monitors analytics, tracks data and contributes to reports
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or other related discipline
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and management tools, particularly LinkedIn account administration
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Communication skills for collaboration with internal and external constituents
  • Strong initiative and continuous improvement mindset
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changes
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry
