The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum is hiring a part-time Communication & Media Specialist.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week, which may include weekends.

• Implement the museum’s approved communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation
• Research and write press releases, infographics, blogs, and newsletters as assigned
• Arrange interviews and other coverage with media locally and from throughout the world
• Assist with museum events
• Distribute event information to community/media calendars
• Create and update templates for museum media
• Create content, edit, and update the museum website
• Devise new means of communicating about the museum and advancing its mission
• Revise outdated communication plans and strategies and execute approaches

The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and CMS software.

This position requires at least one year of experience in external communications.

Pay: $13.50-$14.50/hour
