This is the role:
We are looking for professionals to join our Byhalia, MS team as a Cold End- Machine Operators. The Cold End Machine operators operate multiple machines for processing and packaging of the stone wool insulation products. In addition to operating the machines, Cold End Operators are responsible for troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintaining the machines. This job involves working with moving conveyors, heating equipment and granulators

  • Experience in machine set-up and computers

  • Must know how equipment operates in order to clear equipment safely.

  • To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to take direction and work at times with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
  • Operate Cold end Machinery
  • Change Foil rolls and Bundler rolls as necessary
  • Keep bagger and bundler deck in proper condition and ensure baggers are and bundlers are adequately supplied
  • Remove and store excess bag rolls or bundler rolls in order to maintain a safe work area
  • Re-wrap undamaged product and properly report and dispose of damaged/faulty product
  • Keep proper inventory of labels
  • Locate and correct all improper labeled product
  • Monitor packaging equipment
  • Prepare for product change in advance of the production
  • Notify Lead Hand or Supervisor of any problems
  • Communicate any unusual conditions, equipment breakdowns or needs for repair
  • Monitor alarms, immediately taking corrective to remedy the problem.
  • Complete shutdown tasks according to shutdown procedures or checklists
  • Maintain a clean safe workplace
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all established safety rules
  • Inform next shift of any problem or task you are aware of and needs attention
  • Ensures that the correct bags/packing/labels are used.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job is physically demanding at times. It does require good manual dexterity, good eyesight and good mobility. The position requires a high level of concentration.
Must be capable of performing the following with effective results and without personal injury:
  • Consistently stand/walk on concrete floors for 8 or more hours per shift.
  • Work in high temperatures, in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Some lifting, bending, stooping, walking up/downstairs, fast pace walking
  • The ability to lift 60 pounds
  • The ability to lift up to 120 pounds with another person
  • The ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder height
  • The ability to sweep
  • The ability to use sharp objects in a safe manner
  • Ability to wear protective + safety equipment
