  • Most Community Advocacy Program therapy services are done remotely in the Seattle area to support the needs of participants; ideal applicants will have a private, quiet space at home in which to provide remote services and supervision to participants and a small team of contracted therapists.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with contracted therapists toprovide clinical supervision to New Beginnings behavioral health program and provide time-limited mental health/substance use services for domestic violence survivors.

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director

HOURS: 36 hours per week; Monday-Thursday business hours. Occasional evening hours as appropriate to meet participant needs. Remote.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $38.00 per hour, non-exempt

Flexible hybrid/ remote work schedule

Responsibilities:

· Provide time-limited, culturally-sensitive individual therapy to participants, and facilitate groups for a designated small number of program participants

· Provide oversight for New Beginnings behavioral health program, including supervision and/or consultation for part-time/contract therapists and master level Interns.

· Provide mental health/substance use consultation to staff.

· Provide training regarding the impact of domestic violence and trauma-informed services for volunteers and the community.

· Create and foster relationships with community-based agencies as appropriate.

· Maintain all records as required by agency policy and HIPAA standards, and ensure the accurate and timely submission of required reports.

· Participate in clinical consultation, staff meetings, and agency trainings.

· Provide supervision, management and consultation to contracted therapists to ensure organizational compliance for government, state and local contracts.

· Provide supervision and support for part-time clinical interns placed at New Beginnings

· Ensure ongoing recruitment and supervision of master level counseling interns.

General Community Networking

· Maintains positive working relationships with other domestic violence and human service agencies in the community.

· Builds relationships with businesses or other community resources to secure assistance or services for participants and promote New Beginnings’ services.

· Attends community meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings as assigned by the Deputy Director.

Data Integrity

· Enters consistently complete, accurate and appropriate participant and service data into the agency database.

· Responds to meet data needs identified by the Data Manager, Program Directors or admin staff.

Teamwork and Professional Development

· Actively contributes to a positive team environment to ensure the collaboration needed for provision of high-quality services to survivors.

· Participates in all staff meetings, team meetings, planning days and agency in-service trainings.

· Attends and documents trainings to ensure compliance with Washington Administrative Code training requirements for domestic violence advocates.

QUALITIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Master level degree and licensure in mental health counseling or clinical social work
  • A minimum of two years’ experience providing behavioral health counseling/therapy
  • Experience with trauma-focused therapy highly desirable

· Commitment to the mission of New Beginnings and to the needs to domestic violence survivors.

· Willingness to learn about and promote equity and social justice within and outside of New Beginnings.

· Current knowledge, or willingness to learn about the dynamics of domestic violence and the impact of trauma on survivors and their children.

· Ability to network with a variety of community human service providers and business professionals.

· Ability to work with diverse survivors in a welcoming, supportive, culturally competent manner.

· Ability to exercise flexibility and creativity in helping survivors overcome a variety of barriers to stability.

· Ability to take initiative and maintain accountability to colleagues while providing services in a variety of settings.

· Demonstrated ability to handle crises and juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to maintain participant confidentiality.

· Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

· Ability to represent New Beginnings in a professional manner to community partners and the broader public.

· Ability to use supervision effectively to gain support and enhance performance.

· Ability to engage in constructive self-care activities to manage secondary trauma.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

· Fluency in Spanish, African, Russian or Asian languages a plus.

· Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license and access to reliable personal car.
