Job description

We are a private practice that does both community mental health and private practice outpatient work. We are looking to add a clinical psychologist to our incredibly diverse team of clinical psychologists, licensed professional counselors, and individuals in training to become advanced licensed professionals. We are a group of skilled mental health professionals passionate about offering quality services to the Chicagoland community. We also have an internal training program that allows us to offer a well-rounded training experience to our students who are valued members of our team. In being a teaching practice, we believe we offer a great environment of clinical growth for all while also building strong clinicians to go out into the world. If you are looking to supervise students, this may be a great position for you!

We are currently looking for someone who can work at least two days/evenings (12-8 PM shift, last session is 7 PM) at our beautiful office in Schaumburg, which has floor to ceiling windows and offers a lovely view of the local suburban area and Woodfield mall. We are also looking for someone who intends to be licensed within the next few months, as we need someone who enjoys supervising pre-licensed clinicians.

Responsibilities are those of a mental health provider and supervisor, including maintaining clinical notes and ensuring patients have completed their consent documents, all of which is facilitated through our electronic medical records system. True to its name "Simple Practice," our records system is very easy to use. We try to keep paperwork to a minimum so that the most effort can be given to the treatment room. As a clinician at Guada Psych, you are only responsible for your clinical role-all billing is taken care of by our billing staff who are very good. Clinician should be to the point where he/she/they are able to conceptualize patients using a relevant theoretical framework and implement sound treatment interventions. A full-time case load consists of 25 patients. Part time individuals are asked to see 12 patients per week, and benefits are unfortunately not available to part timers.

Covid has definitely changed the world when it comes to working from home versus in the office, and we think this is great for those who prefer to work from home. Currently, with the exception of our clinical director Dr. Montesano who is fully virtual, our full time staff offers a combination of in-person and virtual services (virtual is through Simple Practice) to our patient population. In order to work from home, people must have an office "set up" and quiet place they can work. Our home base is in Schaumburg, IL, and our employees live all around the Chicagoland area. We are finding that as time goes on, more people are asking for in office services while still a great number are enjoying the convenience and comfort of virtual services. All people who are applying will start out working 3 days in person per week. We will be maintaining a hybrid approach with regards to requirements when it comes to work from home versus in office in the future. Working from home is considered a choice, and there is no funding for costs (internet etc) related to working from home.

With regard to pay, we offer a split fee arrangement based on experience in the field. We strongly value our employees worth and what they bring to the company, which is part of the reason why full time employees are elligible for a W-2 position. Earnings are based on experience in the field or years licensed with quick and prompt upward mobility for those who stay on our team. We also offer CEU reimbursement as well as health insurance options with BCBS PPO, and a $150 contribution is made towards health insurance on a monthly basis. Regarding maternity/paternity leave, we hold your job and help you facilitate referrals while you are gone; typically 12 weeks is given for mothers with a great deal of flexibility returning to work. There is no limit on vacation days.

Our work environment is based on an open and welcoming atmosphere where consultation is highly valued. We meet as a team for consultations every week and often reach out to each other for support on cases. We get together during the Holiday season and also do dinners throughout the year. We encourage people to be their unique selves and value the human, therefore we encourage all staff to set good work/personal life boundaries.

Obviously this is a limited amount of information on the position open, but if this sounds like you might be a good fit please reach out to us with a brief email expressing your interest as well as your updated CV. Thank you!
