This is a position which requires a hands-on clinical background and a broad knowledge of clinical supplies. Computer proficiency is also required. Meeting facilitation skills, organizational skills, critical thinking skills, the ability to handle large projects, simultaneously, and work independently is highly desirable.

Job Summary:
This position serves as a supply chain clinical resource and project manager, leading product selection and non-labor cost reduction initiatives, largely through system wide and multidisciplinary value analysis committees. The clinical materials resource manager leads project teams through an objective, criteria-driven product selection process to drive supply standardization, utilization, and other cost reduction strategies.

The position is responsible for developing and owning cost reduction projects; partnering with end users, e.g. surgeons, physicians, clinicians and operational leaders to understand consumption/utilization patterns, gaining clinical and operational project participation; and leading the team to a consensus. This position interfaces with all levels of the organization, including site Presidents/Vice Presidents, CNOs, Quality, Service Line and operations leaders. Works with external customers, such as manufacturers, suppliers, other Integrated Delivery Health Networks to identify clinical standardization opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
Planning , development and implementation of multiple projects simultaneously
Develop project plan and scope including identification of key clinical and operational participants, project phases, tasks, sequence, timelines and desired outcomes based on requirements, risks, complexity of project.
Analyzes market research, market trends, best practices and other product data.
Presents supply chain improvement initiatives to teams/committees, both clinical and operational, to gain support of and participation in projects.

Manages all aspects of multiple supply chain projects simultaneously.
Leads product conversions in collaboration with corporate and site materials, customers, vendors, value analysis team members, physicians, nursing leadership, service line leads.
Initiates, facilitates, and drives all project activities, providing concise detailed project updates to leadership and escalates as appropriate.

Leads system-wide, multi-disciplinary product selection and non-labor cost reduction teams (representing all hospital sites and medical groups).
Develops a criteria-driven, evidence-based product selection, focusing on clinical effectiveness, reduced clinical variation, patient and caregiver safety, clinical outcomes and financial viability.
Promotes standardization, utilization, and cost reduction strategies, while maintaining clinical effectiveness.
Owns remediation process for supply issues, including product shortages, failures and recalls.
Engages appropriate clinical and operational end users in the process.
Advises clinical and operational end users on alternate product options.
Leads decision making process to quickly implement alternative product options.
Acts as a liaison between the customer and the supplier to promote supply problem resolution.
Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with key customer groups.

Position Qualifications Required :
Required Experience:
3 years licensed clinical experience. One year management or leadership experience preferred. Supply chain knowledge preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels and in situations requiring facilitating, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising, as well as excellent written communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups in all levels of the organization, both internal and external, and gain their cooperation.
Ability to provide leadership and influence others.
Ability to prioritize workload proactively and autonomously to achieve goals.
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage through it.
Proficiency in office tools (Microsoft Suite, Excel, e-mail).
Comprehensive knowledge of product categories in areas of responsibility.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Training / Certification / Licensure:
Current NJ License/certification in appropriate clinical field required.

Valid Driver’s License may be required.
