Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Medical Assistant to join our team at our Edina Location. Starting Pay $18/Hr. The clinical medical assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a clinical setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
  • Record patient medical history and symptoms in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Prepare patients for examination by healthcare providers.
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests on samples, such as blood glucose and urine dipsticks.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure that exam rooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records in the EMR system.
  • Answer patient questions and provide education on treatment procedures, medications, and home care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform administrative duties such as managing medical records, billing, and insurance claims.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
The clinical medical assistant will work in a clinical setting, such as a physician's office or outpatient clinic. The job may require standing or sitting for extended periods and frequent interaction with patients. Work hours may include evenings and weekends. The medical assistant may be exposed to infectious diseases and must take appropriate precautions to ensure personal safety.

EDUCATION

Required- High School with Medical Assistants training.

Preferred- Certified Medical Assistants training or associate degree.


EXPERIENCE

Required- Training from an accredited Medical Assisting training program.

Preferred- Two years as a medical assistant in an occupational health setting.
