Position Title: Classification Analyst

Position Background and Purpose: Cogent Security Consulting LLC provides staff augmentation support to Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC in their work to provide safeguards and security services for the Idaho Environmental Coalition, LLC. The Idaho Environmental Coalition, LLC. does not staff a Classification Office relying on the Idaho National Laboratory Classification Office to provide these services that includes training and mentoring Derivative Classifiers and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information-Reviewing Officials as well as reviewing documents intended for public release. As part of the Idaho National Laboratory Classification Office, this position supports the Idaho Environmental Coalition, LLC. as a Classification Analyst that reviews documents intended for public release.

Requirements:

1) Must be a U.S. citizen.

2) Baccalaureate degree with 5 years of experience as a Classification Analyst or an Advanced degree with 3 years of experience as a Classification Analyst.

3) Demonstrated background and knowledge of Department of Energy classification Programs.

4) Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.

5) Must have or can obtain a DOE-HQ certification as a Classification Analyst and Derivative Classifier.

Preferred:

1) A general understanding and knowledge related to the operations at the Idaho Cleanup Project, Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project, Rocky Flats Plant, Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Naval Reactors Facility, Mound Laboratory, Battelle Columbus Laboratories, Hanford Site, or Argonne National Laboratory-East.

2) A general working knowledge related to nuclear reactor technologies including nuclear physics and technology, naval reactors, nuclear fuel reprocessing, nuclear particle theory, reactor physics, basic chemistry and engineering, nondestructive assay technics, isotope separation and production, and arms control nonproliferation.

3) A general working knowledge related to nuclear weapons activities including defense nuclear waste and material by-products management, thermonuclear weapons, defense inertial confinement fusion processes or activities, defense research and development, and defense nuclear material production.

Job Specifics:

1) Majority remote.

2) A small amount of travel to the Idaho National Laboratory is required for meetings.

Pay:

1) $124,800 - $166,400 per year, depending on experience, certifications, clearances, and expertise.
