Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking Operations team, reporting to the Transportation Manager. Drive Class “A” truck and trailer, making local and state-wide pick-ups and deliveries. Perform daily warehouse duties (i.e. receiving, picking orders, maintenance, physical inventory, etc.) as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 240 staff working collaboratively to provide over a million meals to over 50,000 households every week in San Francisco and Marin.

What You Would Be Accountable for:

The role will be responsible for the following key pieces of work:

  • Drive Class “A” truck and trailer locally and statewide, making pick-ups and deliveries of Food Bank product.
  • Load and unload the tractor trailer in a manner that is consistent with weight specifications and scale requirements.
  • Follow all guidelines established by the BIT and DOT inspections.
  • Monitor and maintain the safe operation of the tractor trailer and complete necessary preventative maintenance logs.
  • Drive other Food Bank vehicles to accomplish all donation pick-ups, product deliveries, and food drive barrel delivery/pick-up.
  • Perform all daily warehouse duties: receiving, storage, agency order picking, salvage/produce sorting, load and unload vehicles.
  • Assist in supervising warehouse volunteers.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required, including physical inventory.

What You Would Be Doing Right Now:

  • Possession and maintenance of a clean California Class “A” driver's license.
  • Two years route driving experience in a tractor trailer and knowledge of regulatory laws relating to the safe operation of a Class “A” vehicle.
  • Two years previous warehouse experience combining inventory/order picking experience, safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, other warehouse equipment, heavy lifting, and other related warehouse tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with good basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.
  • Ability to work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.

What Else You Should Know:

POSITION COVERED BY OPEIU LOCAL 29 BARGAINING UNIT.

PREFERRED: Cantonese, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, or Tagalog language fluency. Knowledge of Food Bank Programs. Knowledge of low-income San Francisco and/or Marin populations, neighborhoods, service providers and faith-based organizations.

SALARY The position is Full Time. The starting salary for this position is $32.97/hr ($68,515 per year), with exact salary depending on experience.
