Saia is currently recruiting Cargo Claims Investigator to join our team. This role will investigate, processes, and determines the amount of the Company's liability on low value claims.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviews claim forms and documents for accuracy and completion and obtains missing information as necessary from customer and/or terminal.
- Communicates with claimants, terminals and sales to ascertain liability.
- Recommends the liability amount on cargo claims less than $300, according to company policy.
- Recommends what shipments require inspections and handles/coordinates all ordering with outside agencies.
- Serves as a backup to the cargo claims associate staff
- Performs other related duties, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in claims or customer service
- Knowledge of AS400 computer system
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Pay Rate: $16.87 - $21.95 per hour, based on experience
