Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity
  • Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout
  • Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate to advanced complexity
  • Prepare layouts and/ or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of moderate to advanced complexity
  • Check work done by other Designers
  • Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
  • Provide close interface with and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions
  • Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship/Green Card Holder required
  • Advanced knowledge of:
o Site design, layout and modeling
o Grading and drainage design and modeling
o Erosion and sediment control design
o Underground utilities design and modeling
o 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD systems and procedures
o Advanced knowledge and proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D software
o Intergraph SmartPlant Review Software
  • EPC project experience working on industrial projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study
  • Advanced knowledge of the following software tools:
o Autodesk Civil 3D
o Autodesk Navisworks
o Autodesk Vehicle Tracking
o Bentley OpenRoads
o Bentley MicroStation
o Autodesk AutoCAD
o 3D modeling software (S3D)
  • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
  • Basic knowledge of:
o Boundary and topographic surveys
o Procurement and construction aspects of engineering
  • Practical field experience
  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
  • Intermediate knowledge of managing and leading a small/medium project
  • EPC project experience working on projects for the US Department of Energy or other US Federal Government agency
  • EPC project experience working on nuclear facility projects under a nuclear quality assurance program
