We are seeking a Civil Rail/Transit Engineer to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team in our Hartford, CT office. As an Engineer you will have the opportunity to lead the team for Rail Facilities site/civil projects, manage and mentor staff in the design and delivery of key Rail Facility site/civil projects, and engage with engineers, designers, project managers and clients to deliver high quality projects on schedule.

Additional duties for the Senior Civil engineer will include:

  • Project planning – Rail Facility
  • Cost proposal development and preparation (technical scope development and discipline fee estimates) and other business development activities
  • Project Controls
  • Preparation of permitting & construction documents (CD’s)
  • Storm water management / conveyance system design
  • Experienced in the management of site utility design
  • Soil erosion & sediment control design

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • A current PE license (CT license preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Rail / Transit civil design of commercial, educational, industrial and/or government facilities projects; Specifically design experience in:
  • Rail facilities site planning, layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, and site utilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and staff to deliver on schedule and within budget
  • Civil 3D and or OpenRoads is a plus
  • Knowledge of interpreting local (CT) codes, ordinances, municipal/state permits, land development approvals, CTDOT standards, policies, procedures, & design guidelines
