Child Care Center Asst Director Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create an environment where all teachers and students can be their best everyday
  • Approve and communicate work schedules to ensure appropriate ratios are always intact.
  • Train teachers to effectively utilize curriculum and teaching tools.
  • Interview, assess and hire new teachers
  • Conduct regular meetings with team to communicate important information and set direction
  • Regularly observe each classroom and provide ongoing feedback and development to teachers
  • Approve payroll, ensuring the accuracy of time keeping systems.
  • Conduct tours for potential families and act to drive enrollment.
  • Build new relationships with community and business leaders (Housing Communities, Chamber of Commerce, Local Businesses)
  • Manage local and state licensing regulations and ensure state compliance and record keeping.
  • Ensure all health and safety standards for both children and teachers are always met.
  • Primary contact for both current and potential customers/families and field leadership

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related area of Child Development
  • Two years of experience as a Director or four years of experience as Assistant Director in a childcare school
  • Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position
  • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
