Job Title: Chief Schools OfficerJob Code: ExemptReports To: Executive DirectorDate: 4/13/2023Why NHCS?Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social emotional well-being of our students and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their SEL growth. We do not give up on kids.

Our expectation is that all of our students thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. Our educators are partners with our scholars and their families as they embark on this path.What is the Chief Schools Officer role? As the Chief Schools Officer you will report to the Executive Director and serve as the senior most leader in charge of our educational programs, supervising our three school principals and other organizational leaders who are focused on education. You care deeply about Neighborhood Houses educational vision and the realization of our mission.

You know that the success of our organization is integrally related to the success of senior leaders and our schools, and that cultivating strong relationships is a critical component to success. You understand the demands of supervising senior leaders and creating a positive, collaborative environment to ensure continued growth and excellence for the organization. You are excited about developing school leaders and other academic leaders within our organization in their ability to successfully implement program design.This position is a senior level leadership position in the organization and is on our Leadership pay band.
