Business Data Analyst
Position Summary:
The Business Data Analyst's role is to analyze and evaluate data within various systems efficiently and accurately. To prepare meaningful analyses, dashboards, reports, and datasets on various metrics and trends including utilization, financial, operations, clinical, and quality. The Business Data Analyst will work collaboratively with stakeholders to assure that accurate, timely and necessary data is provided for organizations to measure operational performance and efficiency.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Uses data visualization and reporting tools to build enterprise data solutions, including dashboards, reports, queries, and other data use solutions.
  • Performs quantitative and statistical analysis and assists internal and external customers to identify trends and shifts in utilization, operational performance, patient demographics, clinical quality, and financial performance.
  • Develops ad hoc reporting and performs analysis of data extraction requests.
  • Prioritizes data requests from users.
  • Coordinates data activities for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluates information and data needs of internal and external customers in support of utilization, financial, operational, and service objectives.
  • Supports and assists with design of queries, views, and stored procedures as needed.

Position Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information System Management, Analytics, Business, Math/Science, or related area
  • 2 years’ experience in quantitative analysis, relational databases, data sourcing, blending, and visualization techniques
  • 2 years’ experience using reporting, data visualization and BI tools such as SSRS, Business Objects, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI
  • 2 years’ experience using query language (SQL), statistical packages or languages (SAS, R), and data preparation/integration/aggregation tools or languages (SSIS, Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Python)
  • 2 years’ experience with health care data sets and reporting including EMRs, claims, ADT, laboratory data, utilization, benchmarking, predictive modeling, and risk stratification.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Analytics, Statistics, or related area
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current pharmaceuticals, prescribing patterns, new therapeutic technologies
  • Experience with testing, training, implementing, and supporting critical processes
  • Experience with cross-team collaboration for troubleshooting and solving complex technical and process issues
  • Experience with accountable care organizations and value-based care
  • Experience with clinical quality measurement
