Swedish Neuroscience Institute is seeking an experienced RN that is licensed in Washington State to work in their Cerebrovascular/Neurosurgery Clinic.

  • Performs Pre-surgery screening and education. Collaborates with primary care and specialty care to ensure patients are optimized for surgery.
  • Ensures all pre-surgery testing and evaluations are complete.
  • The neurosurgery clinic nurse evaluates patients post-surgery to ensure they are meeting goals. At this visit they may perform suture/staple removal as well as provide post-surgery education and medication instruction.
  • Evaluates patient’s response to care and initiates independent and/or collaborative changes where appropriate. Documents changes in condition and interventions.
  • Utilizes nursing process to incorporate teaching into delivery of patient care. Documents teaching and learning.
  • Performs telephone triage of existing patients and collaborates with providers and support staff to ensure care plan delivery.
  • Recognizes the patient’s age as a relevant factor and applies appropriate decision-making skills in the assessment, treatment, and care provided for the patient.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians and coworkers. Is a patient advocate.
  • Documents complete and accurate information on all appropriate chart forms. Reports to oncoming shift in a concise, accurate and relevant manner utilizing the care plan.

Minimum Requirements include:

  • 1 year of recent experience as a(n) RN (preferrably inpatient experience)
  • BLS certification
  • Current RN license within the state of practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.10 - $58.27 per hour
