Central Receiving Coordinator

Responsible for maintaining and coordinating accessioning, handling and grossing preparation of surgical specimens and laboratory inquiries regarding specimen collection and processing for the hospital; maintains and coordinates all laboratory inquiries and procedures regarding referred testing specimen collection and processing for the hospital and acts as a resource for hospital personnel regarding specimen procurement, testing and results; maintains and coordinates all laboratory specimen pick-up and deliveries between CH Hospitals and CH Regional Laboratory Service facilities and performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer experience desirable. Good oral and written communications skills required. Six months experience in all phases of Phlebotomy in a hospital environment desired. Weekends and holidays as scheduled. Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy technicians desired. Experience in protocols involved in accessioning, handling, and preparation, including thin prep processing of cytology specimens desired. Clean, valid NYS Driver's license required.
