The Celebrity & Entertainment Writer will help set the news agenda, bringing in exciting and exclusive content for all Reach magazine and supplement titles and ok.co.uk.

We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.

What will the role involve?

• Attending daily conferences with the Celebrity & Entertainment Director and the rest of the team where you will present your exclusive story and shoot ideas for print and digital
• Writing strong content, including but not limited to celebrity interviews and exclusive news stories, across our print titles and ok.co.uk in accordance with IPSO and legal requirements
• Helping grow our audience on ok.co.uk by meeting monthly individual digital targets
• Demonstrating a passion for celebrities and entertainment, keeping abreast of all the latest news, including reading the weekend and daily newspapers and news sites
• Writing in different styles and tones for our different audiences and platforms and have a real understanding of each readership group and their interests
• The role will include evening and weekend work, so a flexible approach is required

Who are we looking for?

• NCTJ or equivalent journalism degree and knowledge of media law
• Someone with a nose for a good celebrity story and a contact book full of brilliant sources, PRs and agents
• A passionate story getter, demonstrating excellent journalism skill, with the ability to write in different styles and tones for different audiences and platforms
• Previous experience as a celebrity and/or entertainment writer in a fast-paced newsroom or weekly magazine
• Passion for all celebrity and entertainment areas - including TV, soaps, film, music, celebrity
• Previous online experience and use of CMS is essential
