Position Details:

The Grainger Indirect Procurement team manages over $1 billion of indirect spend for business team members across Grainger North America. As Associate Category Manager, you will develop the sourcing strategy to provide service and results through planning, business need, industry assessment, strategy definition, execution, supplier selection, transactional planning and contracting. You will report to the Senior Manager, Category Management.



Compensation:

This position is salaried and will pay between $86,700 to $133,110 and is eligible for an annual MIP bonus.

The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to: a candidate's experience, qualifications, geographical area, and internal equity of the team.



You Will:
  • Lead standard global procurement sourcing activities related to spend in specific categories, including conducting spend and savings analysis
  • Align with defined global sourcing strategies for managed categories, consistent with goals.
  • Lead the global sourcing process for suppliers including eSourcing RFI/RFP/RFX, negotiations, and contract execution with selected suppliers
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align with short-term and long-term global category goals and pipeline opportunities.
  • Use research and market intelligence tools to monitor supplier industry trends and to validate and benchmark costs and competitive pricing
  • Manage projects within assigned categories with the ability to meet defined timelines and provide status updates to partners and business leaders
  • Manage supplier relationships and complete supplier performance management techniques following guidelines and in collaboration with partners
  • Monitor supplier performance observing contract obligations, SLA's, KPI's, and metrics to maximize compliance and avoid issues
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes to increase efficiency and results across the department.

You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Category Management , indirect procurement, contract negotiations, and global sourcing experience
  • Previous management experience leading projects
  • Professional qualification/certification from related professional organizations (e.g. CPM, CPSM, APICS)
  • Strong understanding of Strategic Sourcing processes
  • Ability to assess and manage contractual, operational, financial and risk
