Seeking a retail professional as a category manager for a company. This person will coordinate with multiple vendors, distributors, and internal company departments (Business Intelligence and Marketing) to gather and analyze information regarding market and sales trends and work to identify the needs of customers and clients. This individual will initially manage the grab-n-go food category but must be capable of handling multiple product categories. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the company's sales and profits are maximized by product category while researching new products and strategies to increase profit margins. The position works closely with business intelligence and marketing departments for promotions and analysis data and will be coordinating with the company’s operations team for executing product strategies to include planning and executing process changes. This person must be capable of analyzing sales trends and consumer practices in order to develop and implement a highly profitable category line up that meets the needs of our customers. This person should possess strong management, communication, organizational and analytical skills. They should also be adept at interfacing with upper management, vendors, employees, and clients.

• Ability to manage and communicate with key vendors/suppliers to include monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback, negotiating supplier agreements including pricing and delivery, and setting up metrics to conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and manage supplier performance, continuous improvement and supply chain opportunities with strategic partners.
• Ability to research, synthesize and analyze various data to develop optimal product category strategies.
• Capable of developing category analysis identifying trends and opportunity gaps.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's or an associate's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

Intermediate or expert in use of MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Access is a plus. Additional plus is trained in use of space management software; i.e. JDA.

General Requirements:

• Must be able to perform complex tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations.
