Posting Title: Building Materials Cashier
In-House Title: “Cashier”
The Building Materials “Cashier” possesses excellent customer service skills. The Cashier will scan the customers selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payment, issue receipts, and provide helpful info.
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Assistant Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of the store layout, inventory, company policy, etc.
- Locates products for customers.
- Stocks shelves and maintains store cleanliness and organization.
- Communicates low or out of stock materials to “purchasing” for replenishment.
- Perform and or assist in cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to organize a daily workload by priority.
- Attends safety meetings as needed.
- Observes store areas for safety, potential theft and security risks.
- Ensures that customer expectations are communicated to “operations/Management” as necessary.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Welcoming customers
- Operating scanners, cash registers and other electronics
- Balancing the cash register
- Accepting payments
- Bagging or wrapping purchases
- Following all store procedures regarding coupons, and gift cards
SKILLS:
- Superior Customer Service Skills
- Basic Computer skills (Microsoft suite, POS software)
- Excellent Communication and Organization Skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Comfortable handing money
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma/GED
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Stoop, Kneel, Crouch or Crawl Periodically
- Lift, Carry, Push or Pull up to 50lbs

- Monday – Friday 7am-5pm
- Saturday 8am-5pm
