About Our Job
The Treatment Court Case Manager provides support to the Drug, Veterans and DUI Court Programs by providing case management services to Drug, Veterans and DUI Court participants. These services include but are not limited to recruiting, assessing, planning, linking, monitoring and advocating.
Job Description:
Provides individual case management planning for each participant, conducting weekly/monthly sessions and case management plan reviews. Sessions and plans include but are not limited to housing, veterans’ services, outreach, education and employment needs, life skills and various referrals. Follows-up on community referrals. Conducts case management groups to provide participants with life skills and further access to information about resources. Responsible for linking participants to available community resources in order to ensure a successful case plan.
Screens and conducts assessments of potential participants. This includes evaluating eligibility via background checks and contacting potential participants personally or through counsel. Conducts program orientation and intake for potential clients and coordinates entry into Drug, Veterans and DUI Court programs. Completes appropriate documentation and data entry regarding new clients. Is responsible for initial referral to ARNP and the Health Department.
Actively advocates for the Drug, Veterans and DUI Court program and seeks new community relationships and resources. This includes but is not limited to presentations to groups and clubs at community events, information fairs and reaching out to local businesses, Veterans Administration, explaining the program and requesting support.
Enters information into the Florida Drug Court Case Management System (aka DCCM) database and any other Drug, Veterans and DUI Court related systems, as necessary. Responsible for ensuring participant case plans, test results and relevant treatment or supervision data is collected, recorded and shared with team members in a timely manner.
Attends in-house staffing, court staffing and court sessions.
About You
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely related field. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with substance abuse issues and case management and knowledge of the judicial process.
Job Competencies: Basic knowledge of the legal system, court processes and procedures; ability to analyze files for completion and move cases through the court process; work independently as well as with a team; effective oral and written communication; knowledge of substance abuse and related issues; knowledge of community and veterans service providers; establish work priorities; maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues; maintain effective working relationships with other court personnel, outside agencies, mental health and legal professionals, litigants and the general public; understand the limitations of case management services and what constitutes the unauthorized practice of law; understand and apply legal concepts, laws and rules of procedure when performing case management tasks.
