Our New York office has an immediate need for a motivated Case Assistant in the Real Estate department.

The Case Assistant supports the management of cases and/or projects, and coordinates the related workflow.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work; Meet expectations of billable hours (if any);
  • Assist with legal business transactions, and the preparation, production and organization of legal documents and binders;
  • Organize, maintain and update logs and files, both manually and electronically;
  • Perform manual and electronic searches using external systems and internal databases;
  • Coordinate with internal resources and outside vendor services;
  • Work overtime as required; Travel as required; and
  • Handle additional related projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred);
  • At least 1 year of relevant Real Estate experience (preferred);
  • Fundamental proficiency in MS Outlook and web-based conference call/web-sharing applications;
  • Fundamental proficiency in MS Word and document editing/comparison applications;
  • Fundamental proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheet/database applications;
  • Fundamental proficiency in MS PowerPoint and presentation applications;
  • Fundamental proficiency in online research and internet resources (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and equivalents);
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology;
  • Fundamental knowledge of Firm and Real Estate practice-area-specific procedures and terminology (preferred);
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant jurisdictional/court/agency processes and procedures (preferred);
  • Fundamental knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting applications (preferred); and
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal billing processes (preferred).

The salary wage that we expect to pay for this position is $50,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
