Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Perform new installation: metal stud framing, drywall, drywall finishing, windows, doors, hardware, ceilings, and flooring. Perform maintenance and repairs to existing drywall, block walls, cabinets, steel doors, steel frames, windows, hardware, and ceilings. Supervise temporary and/or seasonal staff that assist by performing minor skilled work.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and 4 years directly related trade experience.

Valid S.C. driver’s license required and the ability to work overtime when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
5 years of journeyman level carpentry experience or completion of carpenter apprenticeship program with 2 years of experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Carpentry: Experience in wood and steel stud framing, drywall installation and repairs, drywall finishing, block walls, drop ceilings, metal doors and frames. Hardware: Installing and repairing door closers, locks, hinges, sweeps and weather stripping. Tile flooring: Prepping, installing and finish finishing tile work. Knowledge of applicable codes, industry standards and job site safety.
Locksmith: Through knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in general building maintenance and construction trades. Knowledge of techniques, methods, and practices of designated trades. Skill in use of tools and equipment. Ability to read, understand and interpret plans and specifications. Ability to work independently and to direct work for subordinates.
