Position Description
Assists with diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cath lab setting. Cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology procedures are performed of various types on Adult and Geriatric patients. Assists physicians in obtaining diagnostic and interventional procedures studies on both inpatient and outpatient populations. The cardiovascular technician assists in setting up the laboratory for cardiac catheterization procedures, operates all equipment , monitors clinical/hemodynamic parameters, assists in procedures, assists in maintaining accurate records of all procedures for permanent files, inventories and maintain appropriate stocks of supplies and participates in providing 24 hour coverage of the department for emergency procedures.
Position Requirements
Graduation from an accredited technical program, college or university, degree in Radiology Technology , Cardiopulmonary Technology or allied health field (Respiratory Therapy, EMS). No experienced required. Must possess a Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred Requirements
Two years of cardiac cath lab, EMS, or critical care experience is highly desired. Associates Degree in radiology or cardiopulmonary technology.
