Calibration Technician

Job Description:
Perform calibrations and maintain lab equipment including repairs and adjustments as necessary. Maintain electronic and written records of completed assignments.

  • Organize Floor Workload and reporting status to Department Manager
  • Supporting floor technicians with technical assistance while maintaining own calibration workload
  • Evaluation of capabilities and resources to perform calibration on new items presented for service
  • Schedule maintenance of in-house calibration standards to maintain equipment compliance and avoid disruption to in house turnaround times
  • Oversee final quality inspection and sign off on calibration certificates.

Position Objective:

  • Perform calibrations accurately, timely and independently.
  • Prioritize and schedule calibration workload to meet customer delivery
requirements.
  • Schedule and perform Preventive Maintenance on various types of calibration and
test equipment.
  • Maintain N.I.S.T. traceability for all devices that are critical to the operation of
the calibration lab.
  • Complete documentation accurately to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Record calibration records both electronically and hard copy.
  • Use Fluke MetCal, as well as written reports and parts request forms for special projects as needed.
  • Work closely with the laboratory staff and supervisor to stay informed on all calibration activities.
  • Assist metrology laboratory staff in working with customers and vendors while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Requirements:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) especially Excel
  • Must be able to build and maintain spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Good vision, math skills and sharp eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Calibration school or Military school preferred or 3 year's direct experience in the field of calibration
