Job Description
The main function of a mechanical drafter is to prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.

• Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
• Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
• Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as furniture and automobile body or chassis components. Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the material so.

• Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

• Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work on projects individually.
• Must have a strong customer focus.

• Experience with CAD software preferred.

• Candidates with technical experience/background preferred.

Typical task breakdown:

• Desk position 100% with core hours of 8:00am – 2:00pm CST.
• This position is fulltime (8 hours a day), but hours can be flexible as long as the 8 hours days encompasses the core hours.

Interaction with team:

• Will be sitting with the team and creating 3D models/2D drawings for installation purposes.

Work environment:

• Relaxed environment.

Education & Experience Required:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years’ of experience required.

Technical Skills
(Required)
• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Basic knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).
• Pro E. Knowledge and experience in any of the three CAD software’s the team uses (Creo, AutoCAD, Inventor). (at least 1 of the above programs)

(Desired)

• 2-4 years technical experience preferred.

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.

(Desired)

• Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Disqualifiers/Red Flags:

• Multiple jobs in a short period of time.

• Master’s Degree will be overqualified.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
