**1,500 Sign-On Bonus**

Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation is currently seeking a Buyer in Vernon Hills, IL. The Buyer is responsible for preparing and issuing purchase orders based upon approved purchase requisitions received from in-house departments. Ensures that vendor order acknowledgements conform to RWMIC purchase orders. Negotiates and resolves any discrepancies. Takes on additional responsibility on matters of significance, including management of minority vendors, attends and provides reliable information for the bi-weekly backorder review.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates RFPs based upon inquiries from in-house departments and obtains and processes vendor quotations.
  • Negotiates with different vendors for best possible price, payment terms and delivery conditions.
  • Works with in-house departments for comparative vendor sourcing, if feasible.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders based upon approved purchase requisitions received from in-house departments.
  • Receives and reviews vendor order acknowledgements. Ensures that vendor order acknowledgement conforms to RWMIC purchase order. Negotiates and resolves any discrepancies. Enters purchase orders into SAP.
  • Maintains active vendor contract files.
  • Maintains professional communication with vendors at all times. This includes telephone calls as well as written communication.
  • Maintains vendor delivery information and expedites purchase orders. (Works with Materials Management and updates changes in lead times and delivery dates.)
  • Establishes, maintains, and manages detailed vendor files, including documentation relating to financial conditions, price increases, change of address, change of ownership etc. Sets up new vendors in SAP.
  • Purchases transportation or contacts carriers to arrange for transportation of purchased items. Measures the quality of executed service in cooperation with Materials Management and assesses the carrier/freight forwarder accordingly.
  • Analyzes long lead time items to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and provides solutions. Verifies that quantity and quality of items received from vendors correspond to RWMIC standards.
  • Establishes and maintains a procedure for HUBs/Small Businesses and manages all required plans/reports by the VA.
  • Provides reliable information for the backorder review meetings with Sales and Customer Service. Expedites deliveries and updates the ERP SAP independently.
  • Receives vendor invoices. Checks invoices for accuracy of quantity delivered and price invoiced. Assigns the correct G/L account number.
  • Works with in-house departments on potential item returns/refunds. Ensures that proper credits are received and processes same. Acquires RMA numbers from suppliers for repair/rework items.
  • Maintains highest degree of ethics in dealing with vendors according to RWMIC ethics policy.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processing loaners from RWGmbH which includes the receipt and return in time of loaned equipment or product.
  • Aware of and comply with the RWMIC Quality Manual and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

  • B.A. or B.S. in a related field preferred.
  • Completion of a Business Apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Purchasing is required.
  • German language skills preferred, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess the ability to work well in a team of marketing, production and accounting professionals. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced PC skills are required.
  • SAP MM experience preferred.
  • Experience with FDA and ISO regulations preferred.
  • Experience with and understanding of cross-cultural differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment.
  • The following physical demands are required:Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day
