The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Personnel and Information has a full-time vacancy for Business Systems Analyst I.

SUMMARY: Analyzes and formulates information system procedures and controls to increase the efficiency of agency business operations for the Department of Corrections. Works with departmental users to define detailed requirements for system fixes and development of new functionality. Coordinates departmental business information initiatives with all partners and stakeholders.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, preferably with a major in management information systems, computer information systems, or computer science. Each additional year of specialized formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Six years' experience in systems analysis with a broad-based knowledge of business environments, preferably in a field or occupation related to software development, software support, or software maintenance, three years of which shall have included the direct involvement in application or product lifecycle management. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: None required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meets with DOC representatives to discuss business objectives and recommendations, and specifies proper business information systems to meet agency-wide needs. Assists in the development of Requests for Proposal as needed.

Provides direct supervision of programs or implementation of software applications working with directors, Warden and Administrator in outlining business objectives to identify proper business information and business intelligence systems, with an emphasis on reporting, configuration and tools.

As directed by the supervisor, initiates planning and evaluation of work procedures and outlines information system solutions to address business objectives across a diverse set of areas within the NH Department of Corrections.

Analyzes or manages software packages related to agency information systems and business intelligence systems, including contact with vendors.

Analyzes systems errors and problems, recommends solutions and provides technical assistance to agency staff.

Coordinates and implements models/prototypes of systems components, including screen forms and reports.

Develops and executes test plans in conjunction with assigned technical staff and assigned user staff;

reports test results to Bureau Administrator.

Defines detailed business information and application data requirements in coordination with assigned agency staff and in conjunction with approved database model and analysis, ensuring compliance with state, federal and court-mandated data requirements.
