Bidder Eligibility


This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.

This job posting is at the Member level. If a Senior or Principal level employee applies and is selected, they will be moved into the Member level and their salary will be adjusted if necessary.

Employees must remain in their current position for one year before applying for a new position, with the exception of student interns. Application of this requirement will not supersede collective bargaining agreements. Posting Duration

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range


$56,100 - $92,500

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like


We are seeking an experienced business professional to serve as Business Operations Analyst for the 7220 Navy programs, primarily W88, W88ALT370, W88ALT940, D5LE2,and W76-0 stockpile systems. This role includes capability support and tailored project management for these major stockpile programs. This position will be responsible for coordination between the project-specific business team and coordination amongst the larger stockpile business teams. This position includes many opportunities for external interfacing and partnering closely with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and the US Navy, as well as external partners such as Los Alamos National Lab (LANL), Pantex, and the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). This position also includes interfacing and partnering with multiple internal to SNL stakeholders to include, but not limited to, component organizations, surveillance, modeling and simulation organizations, testing organizations, and military liaison.

Typical tasks could include:

  • Tailored project management, including schedule, scope, cost, risk, reporting, and stakeholder interfaces.
  • Use of tailored risk, quality, and project management methodology and tools.
  • Partnering across SNL and the Nuclear Security Enterprise and representing the program and/or system with internal customers and partners, external sponsors, and technical vendors.
  • Provide decision support to leadership in various business areas including financial planning, resource management, trends and projections, and business processes.
  • Work with the project technical leads to execute project management activities including project planning, baseline cost planning and updating, cost estimation, and performance reporting and analysis
  • Team with technical staff, project leads and managers to analyze operations, processes, and resources and make recommendations to influence key decision makers
  • Partner with technical leads to capture and report on program assurance activities; complete and submit monthly status reports to our sponsors; and identify schedule risk and lead teams to develop variance recovery plans.
  • Partnership and support for peer staff, including financial analysts and the Project Management lead.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
    • A higher-level degree (MS, PhD) in relevant discipline may also be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Deterrence Mission and Stockpile/Modernization Programs.
  • Knowledge of P6 or other tools and concepts such as project scheduling and management.
  • Knowledge of ARC/financial tools and/or understanding of how to generate reports and pivot tables.
  • Experience partnering with internal and external customers.
  • Ability/willingness to gain an understanding of the technical scope.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand the “big picture.”
  • Ability to think critically and identify innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work and excel in an ambiguous, dynamic and fast paced environments.
  • Ability to lead and partner with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively to multiple stakeholders.

The Center 7200 Business Operations Department (10622) teams with the Weapons Stockpile Management Center (7200) to provide professional skills in tailored project management, financial analysis, procurement support and general business and project services. Department staff work in a highly matrixed organization, integrating tightly with the technical line customers in Center 7200. This Center is a diverse organization, encompassing Weapon Surveillance, Military Liaison, Weapon Engineering Professional Development, and Tonopah Test Range operations. Security Clearance
