Gannett is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst for our Marketing Solutions organization. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion to leverage data to identify opportunities for growth, operational efficiencies, and excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex business challenges within the media and marketing industry. We are looking for a strategic, analytical thinker, that is results and detail oriented, with a background in data analysis, digital media and service operations. Success in this role will require a great attention to detail, enthusiasm, drive for efficiency, and experience collaborating in a team environment. You will work with key business partners in sales, service, marketing, and product to drive strong business outcomes, client growth and retention. You will leverage analytical and visualization tools to provide data-driven insights to support key business decisions and develop dashboards and reports to monitor OKR’s and health of assigned initiatives.

In this role, you will:
  • Perform analysis to support business requirements and monitor performance of key strategic initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations to teams to make smart decisions based on data, not assumptions, to drive measurable results.
  • Conduct problem analysis by investigating the root causes, summarizing findings for internal use and determining corrective actions to resolve them.
  • Assist with managing complex projects and monitoring KPI’s to ensure accountability and success of projects.
  • Develop visually appealing dashboards and reports.
  • Willingly contribute to project success regardless of the type of task (i.e., “roll up the sleeves approach” to teamwork)
Here’s what you need to have:
  • B.S. in Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Impeccable organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years in data, marketing analysis or equivalent experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Tableau, SQL, and other data analysis tools required.
  • Digital Media industry knowledge, with understanding of digital advertising, digital media strategy and standard media metrics. Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, digital display, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platform analytics preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to translate numbers into meaningful insights with impactful visuals.
  • Self-starter with the ability to successfully assist with complex project deliverables in a very driven and evolving organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and appreciation for visual communication of ideas.
  • Ability to work effectively with ambiguity.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
