Reporting

This position will report to the Regional Director of Business Development & Marketing for Acadia’s California Programs. The incumbent will assign and approve projects and supervise all activities performed under his or her supervision. This position is primarily remote, but will be based in Southern California.

Job Details

Strong candidates will demonstrate a proven track record of being a self-starter and also possess the ability to be an effective team player within our larger healthcare organization. Located in Orange County California, you will help support 7 of Acadia’s California-based behavioral health programs including Sierra by the Sea and Sunrise Recovery Ranch, locally in Southern California, as well as Azure Acres, Bayside Marin, Duffy’s Napa Valley Treatment, Serenity Knolls, and The Camp Recovery Center in Northern California. The core duties of this role are:

  • Generate new business pipelines
  • Maintain and enhance existing business relationships
  • “Win-back” stale business relationships

To fulfill this role effectively, the following responsibilities will be required:

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Research possible sources of business
    • Hospitals & treatment facilities
    • Major employers, labor unions, and EAPs
    • Private practice (psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, interventionists, etc.)
    • Community orgs (advocacy groups for LGBTQIA+, first responders, veterans, etc.)
  • Outreach & Networking
    • Virtual (Phone, email, and LinkedIn)
    • In-person (site visits, community events, conferences, in-services, etc.)
    • Use analytic tools to develop routing plans & outreach strategies
    • Log activities & contacts (SalesForce experience a plus)
  • Host program tours & events
    • Create agendas, itineraries, gift bags, etc.
    • Research locations, coordinate with vendors, manage budget & submit expense reports
    • Promote events via social media and direct outreach
    • Follow up (thank you messages, next steps, etc.)
  • Triage cases for potential clients & referents
    • Maintain knowledge of programs to assist referents, patients, and families
    • Listen to provider/patient needs and determine program fit
    • Coordinate with admissions staff for seamless transfer of care

Collaborative Responsibilities:

  • Assess and Report on:
    • Market trends & competitor analysis
    • New business opportunities
    • Account concerns
  • Collaborate with Acadia’s national sales team: TPS, MFS and CBS
    • Tours, events, referrals, etc.
    • Keep them informed via program updates
  • Work with biz dev team and program staff to create/refine messaging
    • Print literature
    • Website revisions
    • E-blasts & social media
  • Support team with other tasks and projects as needed

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • 2 Years prior business development experience, ideally in behavioral health or related field
  • Familiarity with SUD treatment & recovery language is strongly preferred
  • Must have valid California driver's license, automobile insurance and access to an automobile
