Saab Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager that will serve primarily as a Field Service Representative to be responsible for routinely identifying new business opportunities and customers within the Land Domain.

This position maybe located near one of our primary Army Customer (New Jersey; Georgia; North Carolina; Florida) The primary customers include but are not limited to: PM- Close Combat Systems; Maneuver Center of Excellence; Special Forces Groups; Ranger Regiment; Light Infantry Division; the Cross Functional Team- Soldier Lethality. TRADOC Capability Managers, and U.S. Army ASAALT.

The candidate will work autonomously to influence and partner with internal and external stakeholders, interacting with key Army User organization. The candidate will be responsible for advising others on the Land Domain business development team. Understanding Land System business unit products and services combined with the ability to work with technical experts to identify solutions, which will meet customers' needs and requirements is crucial. Lastly, this role requires that the candidate will interface across disciplines and departments and recommends changes to products and processes as necessary.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting as Field Service Representative to interface with our customers concerning Saab Land portfolio with emphasis on Ground Combat weapon systems
  • Coordinating with Government Site representatives, customer stakeholders and Installation Command Teams in support of fielding and demonstrations on Ground Combat weapon systems
  • Being a user Advocate within the Program Team
  • Coordinating with Saab team members and subcontractors
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relations with customers
  • Ensuring continued customer relations and an effective flow of information to deliver business objectives
  • Deploying for extended periods in support of training events and activities at Army CONUS and OCUNUS locations.
  • Participating in collaborative cross-functional teams in the development of capture plans to leverage all organizational strengths of the Land Systems organization. This includes the development of action oriented capture plans, customer and engagement plans, and providing operational and technical inputs to develop system solutions.
  • Being a good corporate citizen of the community by participating in local professional organizations (e.g. AUSA, MCoE Warfighter/Maneuver Conference, Industry Day, AEWE, etc..) command sponsored events, charities and become a part of the customer community

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior military service required (minimum of 20 years desired) with U.S. Army or Special Forces (Special Forces Group, Ranger Regiment, SOCOM, etc...)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with employment of Light Infantry Weapons and Shoulder Fired Weapons (e.g. concept of operations (CONOPS), TTPs, etc...)
  • Experience with all aspects of tactical training of Shoulder Fired Weapons and other Ground Combat weapon systems
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • May be required write CONOPS, Training Manuals and conduct new equipment training (NET) on various Ground Combat weapon systems
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance
  • Must possess outstanding leadership, communication, strategic planning and relationship management skills

Desired Experience/Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree not required, but would be a desired
  • U.S. DoD experience with understanding of acquisition processes, US Army Cross Functional Teams, Army Futures Command, Maneuver Center of Excellence and the US Army requirements process
  • Thorough knowledge of customers within the U.S. acquisition, requirements development, operational, test & evaluation and research & development communities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Word, etc…)

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
