About the Business Aviation Sales Director position

As part of an outgoing and passionate sales team, our Business Aviation Sales Director helps bring the latest in avionics technology to the business aviation (BizAv) community.

Our Business Aviation Sales Director is primarily tasked with developing and driving profitability across the turbine Part 23 and Part 25 segments of our aftermarket sales. Other routine activities of our Business Aviation Sales Director include developing marketing strategies to increase customer awareness of brand and products, cultivating relationships with MROs for our BizAv dealer network.

Our Business Aviation Sales Director’s responsibilities include:

  • Developing and driving sales strategies across turbine segments of the avionics aftermarket industry.
  • Developing and managing relationships with MROs for the BizAv dealer network.
  • Coordinating and preparing responses to MRO, OEM, and customer requests for information or proposals.
  • Closing sales for avionics products requiring extensive technical, aviation, and negotiating expertise.
  • Working with Engineering to expand Avidyne’s product certification and install base.
  • Partnering with Marketing to develop and execute strategies targeted to Avidyne's specific BizAv customer profile.
  • Visiting and conferring with customers to understand aircraft configurations and assess future equipment needs.
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations to explain and/or demonstrate Avidyne’s products.
  • Engaging with Avidyne’s customer relationship management system (CRM) to document and develop a pipeline of customers.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of sales principles and techniques, including the ability to manage all stages of the sales cycle (e.g., forecasting, value propositions, RIFs/bids/proposals, interpersonal relationship building, negotiating, closing a deal).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the business aviation industry.
  • Ability to leverage an existing business aviation network.
  • Strong knowledge of or educational background in engineering principles.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical and business concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across Avidyne, its customers, and industry partners.
  • Ability to bring others together to find a mutually beneficial conclusion.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable skills with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel up to 30% per year.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in related field (e.g., aerospace, engineering, sales, business, marketing). Will consider experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least five years of experience developing sales strategies, building and cultivating customer relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets in aviation B2B and B2G sales.
  • At least five years of experience with business aviation in a pilot or flight department management role.

Other Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience analyzing aircraft obsolescence.
  • Familiarity with aviation maintenance and/or avionics.
  • Current Instrument rating .
  • A&P license.
  • Strong program management experience.

  • Program Management: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
