Primary Responsibilities:

The Building Maintenance Mechanic will assist the maintenance team and will support all aspects of the maintenance department as needed, including general building and grounds maintenance. Ensuring all plant equipment is functioning at optimum levels by performing repairs and long-term improvements.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2PM-10:30PM
  • Night Differential pay
  • OFF Saturday and Sundays
  • PAID WEEKLY

Essential Functions:

Responsible for maintenance and repairs of the building (interior and exterior structures and related fixtures and utilities) through the use of a variety of skills consisting of advanced carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, welding, conveyor, HVAC and ammonia systems.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Must have at least (2) two years’ experience in commercial building maintenance functions including the following: HVAC, ammonia systems, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, conveyor repair, rack building

Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

  • Preferred Electrical Certification, Welding Certification, or HVAC Certification
  • Ability to read blueprint and schematic diagrams
  • Ability to work with outside contractors
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • The understanding of problem solving and time management
  • Must have a valid driver’ license
  • Operate a variety of maintenance equipment, including but not limited to hand and power tools, snow plow equipment and fork lift
  • Reliability, dependability, multi-task, oriented, flexible in scheduling and after hour on calls
  • Must have own tools

The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, bend, and walk. May need to drive between stores as per assignment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to both a typical office/store environment and all outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environments is low to high.
