Job Title: Building Enclosure/Enveloper Commissioning Agent
Location: Regional Projects - Des Moines/Cedar Rapids/Davenport, IA
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 DOE
Requirements: Field Installation Experience (Glazing, Curtainwall, Exterior Wall Systems), Building Science, Design/Construction knowledge

With 20 years in business, we are an independent/third-party commissioning provider specializing in new building commissioning, existing building retro-commissioning, LEED commissioning, facility analysis, thermal imaging, indoor air quality testing, energy audits, utility benchmarking, and certified testing and balancing.

We are looking to add talented and experienced professionals to our team of industry experts. We have multiple needs for Building Enclosure/Envelope Commissioning Agents (BECx) and HVAC/MEP Commissioning Agents/Engineers (MEPCx) for our team. What You Will Be Doing

As a member of our growing Building Envelope/Enclosure Commissioning team, you will be responsible for applying the commissioning (quality assurance) process to the design, construction, and installation of a building's exterior enclosure. The scope of work includes below-grade waterproofing, curtainwall systems, rain screens, flashing and architectural sheet metal, roofing, glazing, air/vapor barriers, and spray foam insulation. Bringing your experience in designing and installing these envelope systems, you apply your knowledge and skills to the commissioning process. Training and certification opportunities will be provided to develop a well-rounded BECxA.
Responsible for:
  • Reviewing architectural details/specs and providing input during the design phase
  • Performing inspections on various envelope systems during construction
  • Witnessing and performing durability tests on envelope assemblies
  • Investigating envelope failures
  • Administering building certification processes (LEED, Green Globes, Living Building Challenge, etc)

What You Need for this Position

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering
  • Building Enclosure/Envelope project experience
  • Design, Construction, and Installation of exterior walls, roofs, and relevant building systems
  • Design development, shop drawings, mock-ups, performing/witnessing on-site testing
  • Building Science design theories and concepts
  • ABAA, RCI, or other envelope industry credentials
  • Experience working in the midwest or comparable climate conditions

Preferred/Nice to have:
  • Field Installation experience with glazing, curtainwall, and exterior wall systems (metal panels, Nichiha)
  • Thermography credentials, Professional registration
  • Commissioning Coursework, ABAA CABS/Auditor
- IIBEC Certifications - Registered Roof observer, Waterproofing consultant, etc.
