PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position provides major inside rental/sales equipment activities ensuring customers’ satisfaction and performing some administrative operational responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
I. Customer Service - Percent of Time Spent = 70%+

  • Provides rental customers’ price quotes and equipment availability and delivery schedule information.
  • Manages or resolves customer’s rental/sales complaints and problems to the best customer satisfaction level possible.
  • Daily monitors equipment rental/sales schedule and immediately contacts customer with any schedule updates, modifications or delivery problems.
  • Serves as a liaison between departments and branches for rental/sales equipment pricing, availability, transportation, and repair. etc.
  • Informs sales and rental representatives of rental/sales fleet inventory, activity and rates.
  • Assists with telephone collection of past due rental/sales payments.
  • Meets with customers to discuss, negotiate and close rental/sales fleet sales that are within established
  • guidelines
II. Administrative- Percent of Time Spent = < 30%

The administrative activities will be mainly in two areas: equipment/inventory and bookkeeping/invoicing. Individuals in this position must be trained and can perform in each main area, even though, he/she may take a stronger lead in on specific area.
A. Equipment /Inventory
  • Ensures rental/sales units are operational by coordinating repairs and maintenance with rental service technicians.
  • Approves some equipment service work orders.
  • Maintains current and accurate service records for each unit.
  • Establishes and maintains rental fleet at approved inventory levels
  • Coordinates daily transportation of rental equipment.
  • Maintains current inventory usage records and ensure accurate and timely billing.
  • Provides inter-company rental sales coordination.
B. Bookkeeping/Invoicing
  • Expedites customer credit applications in a timely manner allowing them to rent equipment.
  • Opens, maintains and closes work orders (i.e. look up customer account job and component codes, warranty status, enter into mainframe).
  • Verifies, logs, codes and processes billing/invoices.
  • Issues, extends and enters purchase orders for outside vendors.
  • Occasionally types correspondence, memos, quotes, records, reports, etc.
III. Group Leadership

Provides daily and long-term leadership for the direct report associates to include but not be limited to the following activities:
  • Interviewing and hiring
  • Coaching
  • Training and developing
  • Counseling and disciplining
  • Dismissing
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Must have a four year degree, or a two year post secondary college graduate with a technical or a business administration degree with two additional direct years of similar work experience.

Work Experience:
Two years working experience in similar customer service related position with at least one year of Group Leader experience.

Physical:
Must be able to work for long periods while seated. Must have ability to clearly communicate with customers on the phone or in person.
Must have physical ability to operate equipment to assist with loading and unloading as needed.
Must have excellent customer relations primarily with verbal communications using the telephone or in person.

Other:
Must be PC knowledge with basic level skill with keyboard and Microsoft software, preferably Excel and Word.
A basic mechanical and product knowledge is desirable.
